STEP Project

We are pleased to report that baseline data collection for the Evaluation of the Strengthening Teacher Practice and Education (STEP) activity began on 2nd February 2023 and is expected to take two weeks. 

This exercise involves the administration of Knowledge, Attitude and Practice surveys to Literacy Lecturers and Students from seven private Teacher Training Colleges (Dowa-DAPP, St Josephy, Chilangoma-DAPP, DAPP-Amalika, Loudon,  Theodora Van Rossum and Alma). 

It also includes interviews with Central-level and District-level Ministry of Education officials involved in the implementation of the Ministry’s Continuing Professional Development Framework. 

The Evaluation of the STEP activity is 

part of the Malawi Higher Education Portfolio Assessment, a collaboration of IPOR and the University of Notre Dame’s Pulte Institute for Global Development, with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
